Music's meaning

Just finished watching one of my favorite bands on Guitar Center Sessions. The interview and more importantly the responces from Jon Foreman the lead singer of Switchfoot were outstanding. In the last segment Jon talks about how he can't sing songs that don't have any meaning for him any longer, but still older songs may have evolved to a new meaning in his life.  I think that this concept may be true for the listener. If the so.g doesn't have meaning in the listeners life, there isn't much value to the song and they no longer listen to it. Songs I know that I have enjoyed in the past don't hold a strong feeling in my heart today cause my life has changed. Still I love songs from mu past, but these are songs that I have been able to impart new meaning to them. Go on and listen to your favorite song and think why do like it so much? If you still like that song in a few years reflect back and see if that meaning has changed for you too.

Dead Desert is here

Since the recent sale of my property on Decatur St, I have been thinking of new names for my home brewing project. I feel that using the name of a street I no longer live on or own property on was not acceptable. So today, I start a new under the name "Dead Desert Brewing." In all likelyhood this will be a permanate name sake for my brewing project. The names of the beers I have made of the years are going to remain intact as they were always independent of the brewer's name.

This is not to mark the end of one name, but to celebrate the start of a new chapter. This blog is going to be so much more than updates on current brews in the works or to tell of tasting that will be happening, but I will begin to share my reviews of dinning and beers that are available out there in the world. So, please enjoy the reading and pictures I post, subscribe as a follower, comment on posts, and share the jem you have found.

Thank you in advance for supporting my project.
